About the Role
As a Senior Technical Program Manager at Confluent, you will be the force-multiplier within our engineering organization, leading the execution of high-priority, cannot-fail programs and driving cross-functional alignment across Product, Engineering, Finance, and Security teams.
What You Will Do
- Drive Complex Initiatives: Lead the end-to-end delivery of large-scale technical projects such as Business Continuity Planning, Disaster Recovery, cost and efficiency initiatives, and platform-wide architecture shifts.
- Technical Liaison: Translate business goals into detailed technical requirements and communicate architecture trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.
- Operational Excellence: Establish rigorous program management standards with clear milestones, KPIs, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Strategic Alignment: Partner with leadership to prioritize roadmaps, resolve cross-team dependencies, and manage resource allocation.
- Stakeholder Management: Facilitate decision-making across global, distributed teams and manage relationships with key partners.
What You Will Bring
- 5–8+ years in technical program management in cloud-native or high-scale software environments.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and data streaming technologies like Apache Kafka.
- Alignment with Confluent’s values: smart, humble, and empathetic with a proven ability to get results in fast-paced environments.
- Proven cross-functional collaboration skills with engineering, product, finance, and data teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
What Gives You An Edge
- Experience with cost management tools or frameworks in large-scale infrastructure.
- Familiarity with Confluent or other large-scale platforms.
- Experience in building dashboards using JQL, SQL, Data Studio, or BigQuery.
Compensation
Compensation Range: $183,800 - $216,000 annually.
