About the Role

This role sits in the Platform design team with a focus on high-impact, horizontal product areas including Kafka, Trust & Security, Cloud Platform, Networking, Monetization, Observability, UI Platform, Navigation, and AI Assistant.

Your Work Will Focus On

• Designing foundational, reusable patterns that appear across Confluent Cloud.
• Tackling complex, system-level UX problems prioritizing reliability, safety, and clarity.
• Creating data-rich, configuration-heavy experiences focusing on data visualization and information architecture.

What You Will Do

• Design end-to-end flows and interfaces for observability, billing, and monetization.
• Create clear data visualizations such as dashboards, charts, and tables.
• Contribute to and extend Confluent’s design system across multiple product areas.
• Participate in discovery and research with cross-functional teams.
• Transform complex technical and business requirements into simple UX solutions.
• Collaborate globally with product managers, engineers, TPMs, and fellow designers.

What You Will Bring

• 3+ years of experience as a Product Designer/UX Designer on web-based products.
• Experience designing data-heavy and analytical interfaces with effective information hierarchy.
• Proven collaboration with product managers and engineers from discovery to implementation.
• Comfort with using and extending a design system across multiple surfaces.
• A clear portfolio that outlines your design process and impact.
• Strong communication skills with a collaborative, low-ego style.
• Based in Canada, with effective collaboration with North America and Europe teams.
• Experience in platform, infrastructure, admin, or billing tools is a plus.
• Familiarity with data visualization UX best practices and tools.
