About the Role: Head of Insurance Operations

We are a trusted recruitment partner supporting established and growing organizations across the EMEA region. On behalf of a confidential client operating within the insurance sector, we are seeking an experienced Head of Insurance Operations to lead and optimize end-to-end operational functions. This is a full-time remote role, open to candidates based across the EMEA region.

The Head of Insurance Operations will be responsible for overseeing daily insurance operations, ensuring operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and high-quality service delivery. This leadership role requires strong operational expertise, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage cross-functional teams in a remote, regional environment. The ideal candidate combines deep insurance operations knowledge with a data-driven mindset and proven leadership experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all insurance operations, including policy administration, underwriting operations, claims coordination, and customer servicing processes
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve operational workflows to enhance efficiency and service quality
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal governance standards across EMEA markets
  • Develop and monitor operational KPIs, SLAs, and performance metrics
  • Collaborate closely with underwriting, finance, risk, compliance, and technology teams
  • Oversee vendor, TPA, and service provider relationships where applicable
  • Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies
  • Lead, mentor, and develop remote operations teams across multiple locations
  • Support business growth initiatives through scalable and sustainable operational models

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Insurance, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus)
  • Minimum 8–12 years of experience in insurance operations, with at least 3–5 years in a senior leadership role
  • Strong understanding of insurance processes, regulatory frameworks, and operational best practices
  • Proven experience managing regional or multi-market insurance operations
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience working in remote or distributed team environments
  • Fluency in English is required; additional languages are an advantage
