We are currently assisting one of our clients in hiring a Cyber Security Specialist to enhance their digital asset, system, and data protection in a fully remote environment.

About the Role

The Cyber Security Specialist will be crucial in safeguarding the organization’s infrastructure against evolving cyber threats, ensuring stringent compliance with security standards, and proactively identifying potential vulnerabilities. This role demands robust technical expertise, sharp analytical thinking, and the ability to effectively respond to security incidents within a dynamic, remote work setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor systems, networks, and applications for security threats and vulnerabilities.
• Implement and maintain comprehensive security controls, policies, and procedures.
• Conduct thorough risk assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing.
• Investigate and respond promptly to security incidents and breaches.
• Ensure unwavering compliance with security frameworks, organizational policies, and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate seamlessly and remotely with IT, engineering, and product teams to embed security best practices throughout development and operations.
• Stay continuously updated with emerging cyber threats, industry trends, and effective mitigation techniques.
• Prepare clear, concise security reports, detailed documentation, and actionable recommendations for various stakeholders.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, or a closely related field.
• Proven experience as a Cyber Security Specialist or a similar security-focused role.
• Strong understanding of network security, cloud security principles, and endpoint protection solutions.
• Practical experience with leading security monitoring tools, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and SIEM solutions.
• In-depth knowledge of common cyber threats, attack vectors, and effective mitigation strategies.
• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a remote, distributed team environment.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with prominent cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and their respective cloud security best practices.
• Familiarity with industry-recognized security frameworks and standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, SOC 2).
• Hands-on experience with incident response methodologies and threat hunting techniques.
• Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CEH, CISSP, CISM, Security+) are a significant advantage.
• Strong communication skills, particularly the ability to articulate complex technical risks to non-technical stakeholders.
