About the Role: Chief Accountant
As a Chief Accountant, you will oversee the company’s core accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely financial reporting. You will play a key role in maintaining financial integrity, managing reporting cycles, and supporting strategic financial decisions. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented and results-driven finance professional with strong leadership capabilities and solid experience in regional accounting standards and regulatory frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee general ledger operations, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end closing processes.
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with local accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls.
- Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll accounting functions.
- Coordinate with external auditors and support audit processes.
- Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and financial reporting accuracy.
- Implement and improve accounting policies and internal control procedures.
- Support financial analysis and provide insights to senior management.
- Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping in line with regulatory requirements.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership exposure.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and tax regulations within the MENA region.
- Experience with ERP systems and accounting software.
- Professional certification (CPA, CMA, ACCA, or equivalent) is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and team leadership abilities.
