About the Role

Confidential Careers is a trusted recruitment partner hiring on behalf of a growing software company, actively seeking a skilled Back End Developer to join their remote team across the MENA region. In this full-time, paid remote position, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable server-side applications that power high-performance digital products. You will collaborate closely with frontend developers, product managers, and DevOps teams to build secure, reliable, and efficient backend systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.
  • Build secure, high-performance server-side applications.
  • Optimize database structures, queries, and overall system performance.
  • Integrate third-party APIs and external services.
  • Implement authentication, authorization, and data protection mechanisms.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and enhance existing applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews and maintain clean, maintainable code standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in backend development.
  • Strong proficiency in one or more backend languages (e.g., Node.js, Python, Java, or .NET).
  • Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
  • Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
