Job Description
Senior Software Test Engineer
Conduent is seeking an experienced Senior Software Test Engineer to support the testing and quality assurance of enterprise applications. This role is crucial for validating software functionality, identifying defects, and ensuring systems meet high quality and performance standards before release. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in manual and automated testing, proficiency with SQL queries for data validation, and strong skills in troubleshooting complex system issues. Familiarity with Linux environments, payment systems, and performance testing concepts is highly desirable.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts to validate application functionality.
- Perform both manual and automated testing to ensure system quality and reliability.
- Analyze test results, identify defects, and collaborate effectively with development teams for resolution.
- Write SQL queries to validate data accuracy and assist in troubleshooting efforts.
- Review application logs and debugging information to pinpoint the root causes of issues.
- Work within Linux environments, utilizing shell scripting as needed.
- Support automation initiatives using industry-standard testing tools.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), including requirement analysis, testing, and deployment validation.
- Assist with performance testing activities and support system performance validation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality software.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in software testing and quality assurance.
- Expertise in QA practices and proficiency with software testing tools.
- Proven experience writing SQL queries and debugging logs from test execution.
- Demonstrated software automation experience using industry-standard tools.
- Hands-on experience working in Linux environments.
- Proficiency in shell scripting.
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, and web client technologies.
- Understanding of full system development life cycles (SDLC).
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to determine root causes of issues.
- Experience with performance testing tools and concepts.
- Knowledge of payment systems is preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
