Job Description: Analyst, Commerce Analytics at Condé Nast

The Commerce Analytics team at Condé Nast supports the growth of the Commerce team, which focuses on providing shopping recommendations to readers. We are seeking an Analyst for Commerce Analytics to partner closely with the Director of Analytics in delivering timely, actionable insights to our commerce teams. This role is responsible for responding to data requests across the organization, conducting ad-hoc analyses, and preparing regular performance reporting that informs strategic decision-making.
The ideal candidate is someone who is quantitative, responsive, and able to translate complex data into clear insights for non-technical stakeholders. Strong digital analytics expertise and the ability to work quickly across multiple priorities are essential. We will prioritize candidates who are curious, detail-oriented, and eager to support a fast-paced team with diverse analytical needs.
Primary Responsibilities
Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare and present weekly and/or bi-weekly performance reporting for our portfolio of Commerce brands, highlighting key trends, anomalies, and providing data-driven recommendations to optimize performance.
- Conduct ad-hoc analyses to support strategic decision-making around revenue growth, traffic optimization, content performance, and partnership opportunities.
- Develop deep expertise in commerce metrics including affiliate revenue, click-through rates, conversion performance, and audience engagement patterns.
- Create custom reports and dashboards to address specific business questions and support ongoing initiatives.
Data Quality & Collaboration
- Serve as a data resource for commerce teams, helping stakeholders understand data sources, interpret results, identify limitations, and frame analytical questions effectively.
- Work closely with internal data engineering and business intelligence teams to troubleshoot data issues, improve data pipelines, and ensure reporting accuracy.
- Collaborate with third-party data providers (affiliate networks, analytics platforms) to resolve discrepancies, validate data integrity, and optimize data collection.
- Document data definitions, methodologies, and reporting processes to ensure consistency and knowledge sharing across the team.
- Identify opportunities to streamline reporting workflows and improve data accessibility for stakeholders.
Strategic Support
- Translate business questions into analytical frameworks and provide recommendations based on findings.
- Support the testing and measurement of new commerce initiatives, content strategies, and partnership pilots.
- Identify emerging trends and growth opportunities through proactive analysis of performance data.
- Partner with cross-functional teams including editorial, product, and sales to provide analytical support for commerce-related projects.
Desired Skills & Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in data analytics, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong SQL skills for data extraction and analysis.
- Hands-on experience with analytics and visualization tools such as Google Analytics, Mode, Tableau, Looker, or similar platforms.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills with ability to present complex data insights to non-technical audiences.
- Detail-oriented approach with commitment to data accuracy and quality.
- Familiarity with Python or R is a plus.
- Understanding of affiliate marketing and/or e-commerce business models is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across teams and learn quickly.
- Passion for digital media and commerce.
The expected base salary range for this position is from $68k - $78k. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including but not limited to relevant skills, training, experience, and education.
In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates may also be eligible to receive discretionary bonus compensation. This is a guild position.
