Position Overview: Technical Services Representative

This role is responsible for the deployment, installation, and upgrade of computer desktops, workstations, printers, peripherals, and associated software. The candidate will troubleshoot hardware and software issues and perform repairs and upgrades at the desktop level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware/software malfunctions at the desktop level.
  • Perform warranty and non-warranty repairs on desktops and notebooks.
  • Execute complex moves, adds, and changes of computer equipment.
  • Carry out hardware/software upgrades on existing equipment.
  • Establish network connections for desktops.
  • Travel to client sites as required.
  • Maintain and update major vendor certifications (HP/Compaq, IBM, Lenovo, Lexmark, Toshiba, etc.).
  • Fulfill a mandatory on-call requirement.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of related experience.
  • Experience with Windows 7 and Windows 10.
  • Expertise in troubleshooting laser printer issues.
  • Experience in imaging and re-imaging computers.
  • A+ Certification is an asset.
  • MCP and major vendor hardware certifications are assets.
  • Strong communication and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license, vehicle, and insurance required.
  • Must pass Security Clearance check.

Working Conditions

Reliable vehicle access, standard Mon-Fri hours (9:00am to 5:00pm) with a 30-minute unpaid lunch. Flexibility required for overtime and changing priorities.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs.
