Job Description
Overview
Our client is developing a series of thought leadership content exploring the forces transforming the construction industry — from artificial intelligence and emerging technologies to workforce culture, macroeconomic shifts, and the future of the built world. These content series are designed to help industry leaders better understand the trends shaping construction and translate complex ideas into practical insights for the businesses building our world.
We’re looking for an experienced content writer who can turn research, expert perspectives, and industry signals into clear, compelling written content. This role is ideal for writers who enjoy explaining complex ideas, distilling insights from interviews and research, and creating thoughtful, narrative-driven content for professional audiences. This writer will write AI assets (3-4 series) on AI education in construction and how to use it in action.
Engagement
- Time: 10 hours/week, ongoing, with room to scale as needed
What You’ll Do as an AI in Construction Thought Leadership Content Writer
- Work closely with the client’s content and thought leadership team to produce written content across a variety of formats, including articles, reports, ebooks, interactive assets, and supporting distribution copy.
- Translate complex topics — including artificial intelligence, emerging technologies, workforce culture, macroeconomic trends, and industry transformation — into clear, engaging stories.
- Write AI assets (3-4 series) on AI education in construction and how to use it in action.
- Synthesize insights from research, interviews, industry reports, and internal subject-matter experts.
- Shape compelling story structures that help readers understand why a trend matters and what it means for the industry.
- Collaborate with editors, designers, and strategists to bring content briefs to life through interactive assets, infographics, and visual storytelling.
- Potential to write supporting distribution copy for social, email, and campaign channels.
- Adapt tone and structure depending on format (e.g., report sections, articles, educational explainers, or executive summaries).
What You’ll Bring
- At least 3 years of professional writing experience, ideally producing long-form gated content covering construction technology, the built environment, or infrastructure.
- Excellent storytelling instincts and editorial judgment — knowing how to turn research or expert insights into compelling narratives.
- Experience synthesizing research, interviews, and data into structured content.
- Ability to adapt voice and tone across different formats, from narrative articles to structured reports and executive content.
- Experience collaborating with editors, strategists, and designers to produce polished, high-quality content.
