About The Role

As a Strategic Support Specialist III, you’ll be a trusted partner to senior leadership in Compassion’s Church & Influencer (C&I) Fundraising Division, including the VP of Church & Influencer and the Sr. Director of Strategy for Church & Influencer. This is a high-impact role at the intersection of communications, operations, and culture, where your work directly enables leaders to focus on what matters most.

What will you do?

  • Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully upholds Compassion’s ministry in prayer.
  • Acts as an advocate to raise the awareness of the needs of children. Understands Christ’s mandate to protect children. Commits to and prioritizes child protection considerations in all decision-making, tasks and activities across the ministry. Abides by all behavioral expectations in Compassion’s Statement of Commitment to Child Protection and Code of Conduct. Reports any concerns of abuse, neglect or exploitation of children through Compassion’s internal reporting process and appropriately supports responses to incidents if they occur.
  • Uphold and engage in Compassion’s core Cultural Behaviors.
  • Develops high-quality leadership narratives, talking points, pre-reads, Board materials and executive presentation content, ensuring alignment with tone, message and decision-making needs.
  • Translates complex or ambiguous information into clear, compelling communications tailored to senior audiences.
  • Independently recommends and develops internal communications, ensuring alignment with change management best practices.
  • Designs and supports culture-building rhythms, team engagement experiences and recognition moments.
  • Provides high-level administrative and operational support, including calendar coordination, follow-up tracking, action-item management, and deadline monitoring.
  • Serves as a liaison for and supports selected projects and processes that require a division-wide perspective, helping balance competing priorities and represent the needs of the broader Church & Influencer team.
  • Exercises sound judgment and discretion in handling confidential, sensitive, and evolving information connected to leadership priorities and organizational change.
  • Supports leaders and teams with a service-minded, steady and reliable presence that strengthens trust, collaboration, and overall team effectiveness.

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent education, experience, training and/or certification
  • Seven years of professional experience working in sales support, operational support, event logistics, project coordination, or another role involving complex workflows and competing priorities.
  • Exceptional written communication skills. You can write a crisp executive brief, develop a compelling presentation deck and a warm team announcement with equal ease.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work with agility in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • High adaptability and comfortable with change, pivots, and evolving workstreams.
  • Attention to detail while maintaining awareness of the broader operational context.
  • Strong relational skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse personalities.
  • A systems thinker with strong technical proficiency with CRM tools (Salesforce preferred), MS Outlook, Excel, and other operational systems.
  • A team-player and solutions-oriented mindset with a genuine heart to serve.
  • This position may require after-hours availability of approximately 5% and travel up to 10% for fundraising events and team gatherings.
  • Equivalent education, training and/or certification may be substituted for experience and education shown above.
