Job Description
Partnership Facilitator II at Compassion International
This intermediate professional serves as Compassion International's primary liaison to local churches, dedicated to strengthening their local ownership, capacity, and resources to minister effectively to children and youth within their unique contexts. As the primary point of contact, the Partnership Facilitator II is responsible for cultivating relationships with church partners, fostering mutual respect, trust, and service to build robust church ministries. This role is accountable for facilitating partner relationships through the Partner Management core process, improving the achievement of church outcomes, and applying a developmental mindset across all aspects of the partnership. At this career level, the incumbent typically works independently on moderately complex projects or objectives, collaborating with other specialists and potentially coaching other facilitators.
Responsibilities
- Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, consistently witnessing for Jesus Christ, maintaining a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealings, and faithfully upholding Compassion’s ministry in prayer.
- Acts as an advocate for children's needs, understanding Christ’s mandate to protect children, prioritizing child protection in all decision-making, and adhering to Compassion’s Child Protection Statement and Code of Conduct. Reports any concerns of abuse, neglect, or exploitation through internal processes.
- Demonstrates a personal commitment to serve, respect, and empower the church according to Compassion’s ministry philosophies.
Church Maturation
- Strengthens church ownership and capacity through a developmental mindset and the Partnership Management core process.
- Facilitates collaborative reflection with church partners on youth and church outcomes, planning for growth in capacity and maturity.
- Facilitates the development and implementation of church-owned strategies that leverage strengths to engage parents, caregivers, children, and youth in ministry aspects, including program design, local resource mobilization, and decision-making.
- Coordinates with Church Facing Team (CFT) members to help churches identify and engage key change-makers influencing children and youth.
- Works with pastors and church staff to identify capacity development needs, serving as Compassion’s key liaison by engaging CFT support and financial resources consistent with a developmental mindset and Partnership Principles.
- Supports churches in mobilizing local resources, sharing resources among nearby churches, and utilizing local services and relationships to maximize ministry support for children and youth. Encourages alliances to further ministry impact.
Program Cycle Support
Supports the church partner throughout all phases of the Program Cycle:
- Needs Assessment: Mobilizes CFT members to compile information for church partners about the needs of children and youth. Facilitates the church partner in gathering local information and synthesizing it with external data.
- Planning: Facilitates church partner planning of their Child and Youth (CY) ministry, assisting them to identify and prioritize CY needs and select effective interventions. Encourages participation from church leaders, parents/caregivers, youth, and stakeholders in planning. Supports the church in developing an annual plan and budget.
- Implementation: Partners with other CFT members to support church partners in carrying out interventions and monitoring progress.
- Evaluation: Partners with other CFT members to support church partners through a learning and reflection process on intervention effectiveness to inform future planning.
Coordination of CFT
- Coordinates CFT support to each church partner using the Facilitation Workplan, based on the church’s maturity, local context, priorities, and needs.
- Creates tailored Facilitation Workplans to reflect individual church needs.
- Contributes to the CFT's understanding of church needs by reviewing reports and perspectives from church partners.
- Documents, alongside all other CFT members, support provided and follows up on identified issues.
Cluster Operations
- Oversees a cluster of churches, demonstrating responsiveness to each church's local context and needs.
- Encourages and facilitates cluster-level activities and resources, fostering relationships and connection within the cluster.
- Promotes cluster-based collaboration for improving ministry to children, peer-to-peer learning, and addressing family and community needs.
- Ensures timely renewal of partnership agreements. May seek guidance from senior facilitators.
Child Protection
- Facilitates church partner adoption of child protection standards and implementation of contextualized practices. Connects churches to evidence-based resources for preventing abuse and promoting healthy relationships.
- Supports timely reporting of all child protection allegations through internal processes, taking direct responsibility if necessary. Collaborates with specialists to ensure comprehensive investigations and mobilize support for follow-up actions.
Accountable to Partnership Management strategic process objectives, coordinating with cross-functional members and implementing local process and self-development improvements based on metrics and feedback. Delivers on Compassion commitments and programmatic deliverables, partnering with specialists to ensure quality and completion. Utilizes mobilization and facilitation capabilities to identify church partner needs, consulting with specialists for creative solutions. May provide expertise to other professionals in the partnership discipline.

Education
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, including Community Development, Project Management, or Social Sciences. Foundational knowledge in basic accounting.
Experience
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience working in this or a related field.

None. Equivalent education, training and/or certification may be substituted for experience and education shown above.
