Barista - Full Time

Compass Group USA is seeking a full-time Barista to join their team at Cooley LLP in New York City.

Job Summary

As a Barista, you will prepare and serve coffee and espresso drinks, along with related food and beverage items. You will handle food according to HACCP guidelines and maintain high standards for quality food service. This role involves friendly and courteous interaction with customers and colleagues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare espresso orders for customers and catering events using standard measures and recipes.
• Accurately enter orders into the POS system and process cash and charge payments.
• Replenish condiments, beverages, and general supplies while maintaining the cleanliness of the service area.
• Ensure proper presentation, portion control, and maintenance of serving temperatures, adhering to HACCP standards.
• Maintain the sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies, and utensils.
• Perform proper food preparation following approved recipes and production standards.
• Keep display equipment clean and free of debris during service hours.
• Thoroughly clean equipment and workstation before leaving for other assignments.
• Greet customers courteously and interact to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Relay customer concerns to supervisors promptly.
• Serve customers efficiently and prevent delays.
• Demonstrate a complete understanding of daily menu items and explain them accurately to customers.
• Utilize selling techniques through effective communication and assist customers in decision-making.
• Ensure all display foods are merchandised attractively per standards.
• Serve food neatly and attractively per standard.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Two years of previous barista experience required.
• Ability to work full-time, Monday through Friday, with varying hours.
• Must be able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Fixed Pay Rate: $22.00 per hour.
• Internal Employee Referral Bonus Available.
• Associates may be eligible for paid and/or unpaid time off benefits.
