About the role
Pharmacy Manager
CommUnityCare Health Centers is seeking a Pharmacy Manager to oversee the business and operations of a Class A pharmacy. This role is crucial for achieving operational goals, ensuring compliance with pharmacy laws, and leading pharmacy staff.
Responsibilities
- Ensure safe and accurate prescription dispensing.
- Conduct patient drug regimen reviews and counseling.
- Prepare and maintain required pharmacy records.
- Provide education and training to pharmacy staff.
- Organize and direct pharmacy technician workflow for operational efficiency.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
- Lead quality and compliance improvement initiatives, including policy development.
- Drive performance improvement through medication error reporting and quality metrics.
- Assist in developing the pharmacy operations budget and manage expenditures.
- Oversee pharmacy equipment and resource purchases.
- Supervise inventory management for prescription drugs and devices, ensuring controls against theft.
- Oversee recruitment, selection, hiring, and training of pharmacy staff.
- Represent the pharmacy in marketing and community events.
- Manage Class A compliance and financial reporting.
- Serve as a system administrator for pharmacy software.
- Ensure compliance with data processing system requirements for pharmacy records.
- Assure legal operation of the pharmacy, meeting all state and federal requirements.
- Interact respectfully and collaboratively with patients and families.
- Coordinate and support pharmacy administration duties.
- Maintain a highly professional demeanor in all actions and communications.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards, including The Joint Commission.
- Uphold company policies, procedures, mission, and values.
- Develop and maintain positive internal relationships with staff and providers.
- Undertake special projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (BS Pharmacy) required.
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) preferred.
Experience
- Five years of community pharmacy experience required.
- Five years of pharmacy experience in a community clinic setting.
- Pharmacy management experience required.
- Medication Therapy Management Experience preferred.
Certifications/Licensure
- Registered Pharmacist in good standing with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy required.
- Current Health Care Provider Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross required.
