Position: Media Advisor
The Community & Public Sector Union (CPSU - PSU Group) is seeking a dedicated media and campaigns professional to join the team. This role is vital to winning campaigns and growing the union.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert media and communication support to senior officials.
- Develop and drive CPSU’s media strategy.
- Identify media opportunities to enhance public profile.
- Research, write, and manage production of various union communications.
- Serve as the primary contact for media inquiries.
Selection Criteria
- Excellent writing skills with work samples provided.
- Proven ability in media advice and risk management.
- Understanding of the media and political landscape in Australia.
- Capability to convert campaign issues into effective media pitches.
- Experience in managing relationships with diverse groups.
- Campaign experience and ability to integrate media with campaign levers.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage rapid responses.
- Commitment to union values and progressive politics.
Employment Conditions
Salary ranging from $121,730 to $136,786 with negotiable factors and 15.4% superannuation. Benefits include flexible hours, 13 accrued days off a year, and generous family friendly conditions including 26 weeks Paid Parental Leave. The position is full time, subject to a 6-month probation period.
