In this role, you will partner with CommBank’s global engineering community to responsibly embed AI-assisted tools and capabilities that enhance developer experience, delivery velocity, and software quality across the bank.

About the Team

You will work with a hands-on, product-minded engineering group at the intersection of platform engineering, developer productivity, and applied AI. The team experiments, validates, and scales AI-enabled capabilities integrated into existing workflows, focusing on safety, reliability, and measurable impact.

What You’ll Do

  • Collaborate on complex technical problems from discovery to implementation.
  • Translate business and engineering requirements into actionable designs.
  • Experiment with emerging AI/ML and GenAI tooling with real-world testing.
  • Deliver resilient, reusable components and services for various teams.
  • Contribute to architecture discussions and engineering best practices.
  • Maintain high-quality codebases with active code reviews and documentation.
  • Work cross-functionally to manage dependencies and align roadmaps.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to boost AI literacy and engineering craft.

What You Bring

You possess extensive experience designing and implementing scalable, maintainable, and reliable software systems. You have working knowledge of AI/ML and Generative AI in software engineering workflows with proficiency in languages like Python, TypeScript, or C#. Experience with microservices on public cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure) and strong technical leadership are essential. A growth mindset, agile expertise, and familiarity with tools like Jira and Confluence are also required.

Work Arrangement & Additional Info
