Data Scientist - Gen AI, Agentic AI (Business Banking)

Commonwealth Bank is seeking a Data Scientist with expertise in Generative AI and Agentic AI to join their Business Banking team. This role is part of one of the largest and most advanced Data Science practices, focused on building state-of-the-art models to enhance customer experiences.

About the Role

As a Data Scientist in the Business Bank’s AI Centre of Excellence (AiCE), you will be instrumental in developing Generative AI solutions. These solutions will aim to streamline lending processes and significantly improve customer interactions. You will leverage Machine Learning techniques to create models that are not only scalable and reliable but also tightly aligned with business objectives.

Your Team and Stakeholders

You will collaborate closely with key business stakeholders within the Business Bank. This includes working with front-line segment colleagues, as well as top-of-house risk and controls functions. Your role will involve navigating the full spectrum of Business Bank product and financial services design and delivery.

Technical Skills and Experience

While we don't expect mastery of all tools, experience or exposure to Generative AI, agents, AI, and machine learning is highly beneficial.

• Generative AI Hands-on Delivery Experience: Demonstrated success in applying generative AI in production environments.
• AI Expertise: Proficient in prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), design, safety guardrails, and frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, and LlamaIndex.
• Cloud Platforms: Experience with AWS Bedrock, SageMaker, Microsoft Azure OpenAI, or similar platforms.
• GenAI and AI Models: Proven experience in developing, deploying, and monitoring generative AI and AI models on AWS infrastructure.
• LLM Models: Proficiency in leveraging large language models (LLMs) for diverse business applications.
• Machine Learning Experience: Expertise in designing and building machine learning models.
• Statistical Machine Learning and Big Data: Strong skills in statistical machine learning using Python and SQL for big data analysis.
