Primary Purpose

The Project Manager at ComEd will manage or support senior project managers in handling transmission, substation, distribution, gas, and IT projects. The role involves oversight of project scope, schedule, budget, and safety performance, requiring effective coordination across multiple teams and stakeholders, and readiness to work extended hours during emergencies.

Primary Duties

  • Lead and support project/program performance across multiple domains.
  • Manage project costs, schedule, scope, and risks with recovery plans.
  • Coordinate project requirements with external and internal stakeholders.
  • Communicate with sponsors and executives during key project phases.
  • Coach team members and secure necessary project resources.

Job Scope

This is an individual contributor role accountable for leading projects or supporting larger initiatives. Responsibilities include business case completion, budgetary approvals, scheduling, requirements engineering, environmental analysis, equipment procurement, and stakeholder relationship management with internal teams, customers, and regulatory agencies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2 - 4 years of relevant project management experience, or higher if substituting educational requirements.
  • Strong skills in communication, leadership, and project management software (Work, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project, Passport).
  • Valid driver's license and automobile access.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in utility design/planning, IT, and project management certification (CAPM or PMP) is preferred. Demonstrated proficiency in managing projects, job budgeting, costing, and performance metrics reporting is highly valued.
