Job Summary
The Knowledge Architect, User Experience supports the Knowledge Management team in designing, documenting, and deploying intelligent knowledge solutions and systems. This role is crucial for delivering contextual knowledge across Comcast Advertising workflows, with a focus on transforming use-cases into automation prototypes and conducting rigorous cross-platform testing. A strong emphasis is placed on producing clear, comprehensive documentation for all project work. The role encompasses all aspects of the user-centered design process, from initial user research through design implementation. You will design, lead, and analyze user research activities, leveraging findings to create cohesive site architectures, wireframes, and functional specification documentation for websites and applications. This position involves implementing user experience strategies for a variety of projects, ensuring consistent user experiences across rich media content delivery and innovative communications applications, while balancing user interactions with key branding and marketing objectives.
Core Responsibilities
- Act as a knowledge systems designer during discovery and detailed design, translating business workflows into tech-enabled efficient experiences, architectures, and service patterns.
- Facilitate cross-BU intake and prioritization, aligning on business cases and KPIs, and communicating roadmaps and results.
- Develop playbooks, usage guidelines, and training materials. Support field adoption through documentation, office hours, and internal communities of practice.
- Serve as an expert consultant during the detailed design phase by reviewing interaction design, copy, and visual design for usability best practices.
- Design, lead, and analyze user research and usability testing initiatives. Plan, facilitate, and manage usability evaluations.
- Strategize with clients and the team regarding task analysis and task completion user flows.
- Articulate user experience issues/concerns and overall design principles to team members and clients.
- Synthesize and communicate the implications of user research findings and business requirements, and conceptualize the structure and functionality of the user experience design.
- Participate in client discovery sessions, assisting in defining business requirements, discovering user personas/archetypes, and interpreting user goals/priorities.
- Conduct audits of existing systems and web sites based on clarity and usability best practices, preparing reports of findings and improvement recommendations.
- Develop standards, methodologies, and repeatable processes for delivery of user experience services.
- Create content hierarchies, site maps, and navigational models aligned with the defined/expected user experience and business requirements.
- Possess a strong background in user interface design and development with proven ability to create functional and usable interfaces, excellent diagramming skills, and information design experience in developing deliverables and documentation to communicate user experience design elements, flows, interaction, and functionalities.
- Translate concepts into interactive experiences through the design and/or implementation of website architectures.
- Collaborate with designers on visual comps and provide input from an information architecture perspective.
- Demonstrate analytical problem-solving skills, excellent writing and presentation skills with experience in outlining functional specifications and content requirements (concurrently with interface design) based on content inventories, task analysis, card sorting exercises, and other user experience design techniques.
- Consistently exercise independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
- Maintain regular, consistent, and punctual attendance. Flexibility to work nights, weekends, variable schedules, and overtime as necessary.

Education & Experience
A Bachelor's Degree is preferred, though Comcast also considers applicants with a combination of coursework and extensive related professional experience. This role requires 5-7 years of relevant work experience, indicating a senior-level expertise in user experience and knowledge architecture.
