Position Summary
The Chio Lab at Columbia University Irving Medical Center is seeking an outstanding and highly motivated Technician B. This role involves performing research in pancreatic cancer biology and redox metabolism, utilizing both tissue culture and molecular biology skills.
Responsibilities
- Conduct molecular, cell biology, and genetic studies in vitro and in vivo.
- Prepare DNA, RNA, perform PCR, recombinant DNA cloning, gel electrophoresis, Western blots, and tissue culture.
- Oversee mouse colony maintenance and assist with animal surgeries and dissections.
- Process primary tissue samples and conduct immunohistochemistry.
- Operate laboratory equipment and maintain lab inventory and safety.
- Generate and present written or oral progress reports including data analysis.
Additional Information
The candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry or a related field. Prior lab experience, computer skills, and good interpersonal communication are required. Occasional late work hours may be necessary.
