Data Coordinator
Columbia University Irving Medical Center is seeking a Data Coordinator to join their Neurological Intensive Care Unit (NICU) research team. This role focuses on the preparation and support of analysis for high-resolution data used in various research studies within the Division of Neurocritical care. The research encompasses clinical trials, epidemiological outcome studies, and advanced analytics of physiological data and biomarkers, utilizing machine learning for a deeper understanding of acute brain injuries, disorders of consciousness, and brain-computer interface development.
Responsibilities
- Prepare data from electronic medical record sources.
- Prepare data from high-resolution physiology data sources.
- Conduct data preparation for clinical trials and epidemiological outcome studies.
- Perform database programming.
- Support and perform signal processing, machine learning, predictive modeling, hypothesis testing, imputation, and variable transformation techniques.
- Support and perform exploratory data analysis and visualization.
- Support and perform big data analytics of high-resolution physiological data and other biomarker data.
- Support and perform cleaning/filtering of large, noisy datasets.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in computer science, or a related mathematical/statistical field.
- Expertise in statistical software such as R, Matlab or Python.
- Working knowledge of data management software such as Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with SQL/noSQL tools and languages.
- Strong skills in health services research design, database development and management, and statistical programming.
- Ability to clearly communicate statistical concepts to both scientists and non-scientists.
