About the Chief General Counsel Role at Color Of Change

Color Of Change is seeking a seasoned, values-driven Chief General Counsel to serve as the organization’s principal legal authority and a trusted strategic advisor to executive leadership and the Board of Directors.

This pivotal role involves designing and leading Color Of Change’s legal function from the ground up, establishing the essential legal infrastructure. The Chief General Counsel will be responsible for protecting the organization’s advocacy efforts, its people, funding, and public integrity, all while enabling bold, mission-aligned action to further Color Of Change's impactful work.

Key Responsibilities and Impact

  • Serve as the primary legal counsel, advising executive leadership and the Board.
  • Build and scale the legal department, developing robust policies and procedures.
  • Ensure organizational compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
