Role Overview: Intern Tax State Federal Local
The Corporate Finance Intern will support the State and Local Tax group at our headquarters in New York City, with additional exposure in Federal, International Tax and Planning.
Responsibilities
State & Local Tax (85%):
- Gather and compile apportionment data for tax returns.
- Prepare state income tax return calculations and forms using tax software.
- Manage administrative tasks across 50 jurisdictions.
- Support quarterly and year-end state income tax provision.
- Assist in various projects including planning, automation, research on tax law changes and ad hoc property tax projects.
- Participate in an Action Learning Project with end-of-internship presentation.
Federal Tax, International Tax and Planning (15%):
- Compile and update data for federal tax return filings.
- Assist in preparation of pro forma federal tax returns.
- Help draft international disclosure statements for tax returns.
- Collaborate with the Manager, Tax Planning and Support to streamline subsidiary reporting.
- Support various ad hoc international tax projects.
Qualifications
Current or recent graduate student pursuing a degree in Accounting or Tax. Proficient in Google Suite, Microsoft Excel, and Google Sheets. Exposure to tax areas and OneSource tax software is a plus. Must have excellent organizational and analytical skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour. Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees might also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for executive-level roles.
