About The Role

Own the design and enforcement of security controls across cloud infrastructure, data platforms, and Kubernetes environments. The Associate Security Architect - Cloud role focuses on building preventive guardrails, automating access governance, and improving incident readiness through measurable, auditable outcomes. As a subject-matter expert, you will guide architecture decisions, mentor engineers, and elevate the team’s security maturity while embedding secure-by-design practices across engineering teams.

What You'll Do

• Build and cultivate a security focused culture through collaboration with the business and technology team.
• Develop scripts and automation to accelerate the implementation, improve processes, fixing misconfigurations, conduct assessments etc.
• Write and implement enforcement policies to strengthen cloud security posture.
• Respond and investigate cloud security incidents.
• Lead and contribute towards management of cloud network and security infrastructure on AWS.
• Conduct vulnerability assessment of cloud infrastructure and publish reports on a regular basis.
• Develop cloud security baselines as per the product requirements.
• Drive the work to secure application and data platforms, including use of ETL/ELT and CI/CD pipelines.
• Lead the development of security service delivery and operation documentation.
• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders on firm mandated audits and take responsibilities in performing the required reviews associated with the audit.
• Assist tech team with integrating systems and services with security services and tools.
• Support, including coaching and mentoring, the team with their various responsibilities, including achieving and maintaining mandatory certifications and threat modeling activities.

You’ll Excel in This Role If You Have

• Minimum 6 to 8 years of experience in cloud security.
• Strong understanding of cloud technologies and platforms. Preferred AWS.
• Deep understanding about cloud native security controls i.e. Identity management, Data security, WAF, cryptography, kubernetes, containers, N/W Firewall, API Gateways etc.
• Should have knowledge of authentication and authorization mechanisms, PKI infrastructure and cloud native key management systems.
• Proficiency in at-least on scripting language.
• Proven experience with containerisation and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes). Should demonstrate understanding of microservices architecture.
• Should have understanding and hands-on knowledge about IaC tools such as Terraform, Cloudformation, Chef etc.
• Understanding of DevOps principles, tools and intersection with cloud architecture.
• Good knowledge of development best practices, including software design patterns, code review process and CI/CD pipelines.
• In-depth knowledge of cyber security principles, threat landscapes and attack vectors.
• Good documentation skills - ability to define guidelines, policies and procedures.
• Understanding of Zero trust principle, security technologies and controls.
• Security risk and compliance experience with cloud platforms.
• Strong sense of ownership, urgency and drive.
• Should have the ability to work independently.
• Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills.
• Demonstrate teamwork and collaborate with other teams to ensure cloud compliance and security.
• Familiarity with industry standards and frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, CIS benchmark to help adhere to compliance requirements.
• Preferred: Certification: CCSK/CCSP, AWS/GCP/Azure certifications.
