About the Role

At Coinbase, Base is planning to bring a million developers and a billion users onchain. As a Token & Governance Research Specialist, you will shape the long-term token and governance strategy for Base, ensuring it evolves as a credibly neutral, decentralized public good while driving global onchain growth.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Define token goals and roadmap for decentralized governance.
  • Research and analyze past token designs and economics.
  • Create the Base constitution and legislative processes.
  • Operationalize both onchain and offchain governance systems.
  • Develop community engagement systems and documentation.
  • Collaborate with Legal and Risk teams for compliance.

What We Look For

  • Strong passion for token economics and governance design.
  • Proven project management skills across diverse stakeholders.
  • Adeptness at building structure from ambiguity.

Nice to Haves

  • Background in community engagement and user education in onchain contexts.
