Job Description
Security Engineer, Corporate Security at Coinbase
At Coinbase, our mission is to increase economic freedom in the world. It’s a massive, ambitious opportunity that demands the best of us, every day, as we build the emerging onchain platform — and with it, the future global financial system.
To achieve our mission, we’re seeking a very specific candidate. We want someone who is passionate about our mission and who believes in the power of crypto and blockchain technology to update the financial system. We want someone who is eager to leave their mark on the world, who relishes the pressure and privilege of working with high caliber colleagues, and who actively seeks feedback to keep leveling up. We want someone who will run towards, not away from, solving the company’s hardest problems.
Our work culture is intense and isn’t for everyone. But if you want to build the future alongside others who excel in their disciplines and expect the same from you, there’s no better place to be.
While many roles at Coinbase are remote-first, we are not remote-only. In-person participation is required throughout the year. Team and company-wide offsites are held multiple times annually to foster collaboration, connection, and alignment. Attendance is expected and fully supported. Coinbase Corporate Security (CorpSec) is seeking a Security Engineer, Corporate Security to design, implement, and automate security solutions that protect corporate infrastructure, user devices, enterprise applications, and network communications. This role combines hands-on coding with the design and deployment of security configurations to address complex technical challenges. Your work will ensure that Coinbase’s corporate environment remains secure, efficient, and resilient, directly safeguarding sensitive data and critical assets.
What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties):
- Designing and implementing security configurations to harden Coinbase’s macOS, Chromebook, and mobile endpoints, focusing on secure setups, compliance, threat detection, and user experience.
- Building software to automate security processes, remediate risks, and integrate third-party solutions.
- Conducting security reviews of enterprise systems and software to identify vulnerabilities and recommend improvements.
- Collaborating with IT and engineering teams to integrate endpoint and SaaS security into broader corporate initiatives.
What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):
- 3+ years of experience in security engineering.
- At least 1 year of experience securing macOS in an enterprise environment.
- Proficiency in writing code to build automations, integrations, or tools that enhance corporate security infrastructure.
- A commitment to advancing an open financial system that connects the world.
Nice to haves:
- You have secured ChromeOS / Chromebooks in an enterprise environment.
- You have secured endpoint communication using device trust and zero trust network access products (like Cloudflare, Prisma Access, or Zscaler).
- You have worked with Golang, Docker, and AWS or GCP.
