As a Senior Software Engineer, Backend Onramp, you will join a startup team of talented engineers working to bridge fiat and onchain economies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build reliable backend services and accessible UIs.
  • Design distributed systems and microservices architectures.
  • Integrate cleanly with internal and third-party services.
  • Write high-quality, well-tested code for customer needs.
  • Collaborate closely with designers and product managers.

What We Look For

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of software engineering experience, a scrappy self-starter mindset, and strong full-stack engineering skills. You should be passionate about onchain/Web3, particularly Ethereum and EVM-compatible chains, and enthusiastic about improving customer UX.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience scaling a startup into a mid-size company.
  • Background in blockchain technology such as Bitcoin or Ethereum.
  • Experience decomposing monoliths into microservices.
  • Built financial, high reliability, or security systems.

Work Culture & Logistics

Although Coinbase is remote-first, in-person participation is required throughout the year with multiple team offsites supported by the company.
