Overview

At Coinbase, our mission is to increase economic freedom by building the emerging onchain platform. Join our Stablecoin Payments team to develop core infrastructure for stablecoin-based payments, enabling fast, secure, and scalable money movement worldwide.

What You Will Do

  • Design, build, and maintain backend systems for deposits, withdrawals, and payments.
  • Serve as Directly Responsible Individual (DRI) for key projects from design to production.
  • Collaborate with product, design, infrastructure, and compliance teams.
  • Integrate stablecoin functionality with internal and external APIs.
  • Address performance, scalability, and reliability challenges in systems.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a high-performing engineering culture.
  • Stay up-to-date on the evolving crypto ecosystem and emerging opportunities.

What We Look For

  • Minimum 5 years of software engineering experience.
  • Experience building large-scale backend systems, especially in fintech, payments, or crypto.
  • Strong proficiency in backend technologies such as Go, Java, and cloud platforms like AWS or GCP.
  • Deep understanding of distributed systems, APIs, and system design.
  • A product-minded approach with strong ownership and collaborative spirit.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience with stablecoins, DeFi protocols, or on-chain payments.
  • Familiarity with smart contract platforms and related developer tools.
  • Contributions to open-source crypto or blockchain projects.
  • Experience in startup or hyper-growth environments.
