Cohere's mission is to scale intelligence to serve humanity by training and deploying frontier models for developers and enterprises. These models power magical AI experiences like content generation, semantic search, RAG, and agents, and Cohere believes their work is instrumental to the widespread adoption of AI. The team is passionate about what they build, with each member contributing to increasing model capabilities and customer value. The Impact of a Data Annotation Specialist, Investment Banking/Private Equity
This role is crucial to Cohere's mission of building machines that understand the world and making them safely accessible. Your specific focus will be on financial modeling and finance-based questions, where you will teach the Cohere model how to perform across a variety of different functions and logic.
Please note: This is a part-time contract position, requiring a commitment of 16 hours per week at a $30/hour contract rate. This role is available within Canada only and requires you to Bring Your Own Device (laptop).
Key Responsibilities as an AI Data Trainer
- Evaluate the model’s ability to respond to objective financial queries (without providing financial advice).
- Write financial prompts along with verified information to evaluate the accuracy of the model’s responses.
- Label, proofread, and improve machine-written and human-written financial outputs.
- Follow Cohere's style guide and recommend solutions for unique situations outside its scope.
- Evaluate financial models using Excel.

You may be an excellent fit for this Data Annotation Specialist, Investment Banking/Private Equity role if you possess:
- 5+ years of industry experience working in equity research, corporate finance, M&A, private equity, or corporate development.
- Financial analysis training and experience (preferred).
