Job Description
FinOps Specialist
Cognizant is seeking a FinOps Specialist to build and maintain automation tools for cost optimization, anomaly detection, and cloud cost showback/chargeback. This role involves developing scripts, integrating FinOps tools with cloud platforms, implementing auto-remediation for cost anomalies, and maintaining dashboards and alerting systems to ensure financial governance and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain dashboards and visualization tools for real-time cost insights.
- Provide automated reports for stakeholders on budgets, anomalies, and optimization opportunities.
- Implement auto-remediation workflows for cost anomalies and policy violations.
- Enforce FinOps automation standards and reusable patterns.
- Configure alerting systems for proactive cost governance.
- Develop scripts and utilities for automated cost tracking and reporting.
- Ensure seamless integration with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows.
Skills
- Deep understanding of cloud economics, pricing models, and cost optimization strategies.
- Experience with multi-cloud and hybrid architectures, especially Azure.
- Strong expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for cloud environments.
- Hands-on experience with cloud cost management tools and automation.
- Hands-on experience with APIs from AWS and Azure for cost and resource management.
- Experience with Cloud FinOps frameworks and cost optimization strategies.
- Familiarity with cloud-native monitoring tools and anomaly detection techniques.
- Proven ability to define governance frameworks and KPIs.
- Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation.
