Job Overview
Build, operate, and evolve an Alibaba Cloud-based backend for CDC/ERD in China. This role covers data ingestion, messaging, processing, storage, and analytics, ensuring high availability, security, and cost efficiency. After go-live, provide L2/L3 support and collaborate closely with global teams to maintain a united solution.
Major Responsibilities
- Set up and manage Alibaba Cloud services for routing, processing, and analytics, including VPC/SLB/ECS, ACK/Kubernetes, OSS, RDS/PolarDB, Kafka/RocketMQ, SLS, Function Compute, DataWorks/EMR/MaxCompute.
- Ensure availability and performance through resilient architecture, autoscaling, caching, and observability practices.
- Drive continuous localization and modernization utilizing cloud-native capabilities; promote CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code principles.
- Fulfill compliance and security requirements, covering network isolation, encryption, IAM/RAM, key management, and auditing.
- Monitor data transfer channels and perform end-to-end troubleshooting for transfer failures and backend incidents.
- Mentor junior engineers, build internal knowledge, and leverage AI to mine enterprise knowledge for scenario model construction.
Competencies and Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with Alibaba Cloud services such as ECS/VPC/SLB, ACK/K8s, OSS, RDS/PolarDB, SLS, CloudMonitor, RAM/KMS, and WAF.
- Proficiency in streaming and data processing technologies including Kafka/RocketMQ, Flink/Spark, REST/gRPC APIs, and microservices developed with Java/Spring Boot or Python.
- Expertise in DevOps and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices: Git/GitLab CI or Jenkins, Terraform/ROS, Helm, and containerization with Docker/Kubernetes.
- Experience with observability and reliability tools and practices: Prometheus/Grafana, ELK/Opensearch, tracing, and SRE principles (SLA/SLO/SLI).
- Understanding of security and compliance for data platforms, including PIPL/PIA, network/data encryption, secrets management, and auditing.
- Basic knowledge of applied AI/ML for building knowledge Q&A, classification, or anomaly detection models on platform data.
Education
Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Software/Network Engineering, Data/Cloud Engineering, or a related field.
Working Experience
- 5–10+ years of experience in backend or cloud engineering, with 3+ years specifically on Alibaba Cloud.
- Demonstrated experience with large-scale data pipelines.
- Proven ability to provide L2/L3 support and participate in on-call rotations.
