We're partnering with a high-performance, cloud-native SaaS company building mission-critical infrastructure used by engineering teams worldwide. Their platform operates at serious scale, and security isn’t an afterthought - it’s foundational. They are seeking a Security Officer who can operate at both strategic and deep technical levels. This isn’t a checkbox compliance role; it’s about building the security foundation that enables scale. Security is considered a core product feature.

What You’ll Actually Do

As a Security Officer, you will sit at the intersection of engineering, architecture, and compliance. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Own and prioritise the security roadmap.
• Translate real-world threats into engineering requirements.
• Lead and evolve a Security Champions program.
• Conduct architectural risk assessments on distributed systems.
• Oversee SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA readiness.
• Maintain an “always audit ready” posture.
• Manage pentesting and vulnerability remediation.
• Govern multi-cloud environments across AWS, GCP, and Azure.
• Support enterprise sales with deep security expertise.

Beyond reviewing policies, you will actively engage in reviewing IAM, RBAC, and even code when necessary.

What Makes You a Strong Fit

Ideal candidates will likely possess:

• 5+ years in Security Engineering, DevSecOps, or Security Leadership within a SaaS environment.
• Strong cloud expertise across AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Real experience owning SOC 2 Type II audits.
• Practical GDPR and HIPAA knowledge.
• Hands-on threat modelling and architectural risk assessment experience.
• The ability to move from policy to production systems quickly.

Bonus points if you have experience with OWASP SAMM, Drata, Vanta, or similar compliance automation tools, high-performance systems, databases, infrastructure platforms, or the AWS FTR process.
