Overview
The Marketing Manager role at Co-op Careers reports to the VP, Marketing and Communications. This position is responsible for commodity-level marketing, CRS wide marketing initiatives, digital media management, planning and budgeting, and talent development.
Commodity Level Marketing
Develop and execute annual marketing plans for commodity-level programs including liquor, food, home centres, gas bars, pharmacy, ag, and bulk petroleum. Lead advertising campaigns across traditional and online media by booking billboards, print ads, posters, roadside signs, radio, streaming ads, and video content. Plan and execute digital & social media strategies along with event planning for new store openings. Establish strategic marketing partnerships/sponsorships including game day contests and giveaways in collaboration with the Communications Manager.
CRS Wide Marketing Initiatives
Provide leadership and support to each retail division in executing FCL-led marketing initiatives. Ensure local campaign actioning to avoid resource duplication, contribute to campaign development, and pilot project support. Engage in initiatives like digital marketing, in-store promotions, campaigns, contests, and attend key CRS Marketing webinars.
Digital Media Management
Manage Saskatoon Co-op’s digital channels to grow online engagement and interaction. Responsible for online advertising and campaign development that aligns with Saskatoon Co-op’s brand messaging.
Planning & Budgeting
Develop and implement annual marketing plans and budgets in coordination with the VP, Marketing & Communications. Contribute to business plan development, evaluate progress against goals, and lead execution to achieve division scorecard outcomes.
Talent Development
Lead, mentor, and guide the marketing team through recruitment, training, performance management, and aligning team efforts with overall marketing priorities.
Internal Working Relationships
Build and maintain strong relationships across divisions including Division Managers, Operations Directors, and Team Leaders. Work collaboratively with CRS colleagues and serve as a member of Saskatoon Co-op’s Senior Management Team.
Qualifications
Undergraduate Degree in Marketing with a minimum 7+ years of marketing experience. Must have experience in digital media management, social platform analytics, event execution, strong communication, and visual communication skills. A combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
