Overview
The Administrative Assistant II at CNA Insurance supports day-to-day operational matters across departments including operations, corporate services, and sales. This role involves complex administrative tasks, confidential issue resolution and serves as a liaison between management and other business units.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist management in coordinating organizational administration activities such as performance reviews and cost center updates.
- Draft, prepare, and distribute correspondence, memos, and reports using office technologies.
- Collaborate with internal and external contacts to address business unit administration issues.
- Schedule and coordinate meetings, conferences, travel arrangements, and manage business calendars.
- Prepare and process reports including timekeeping and payroll processes; may train staff.
- Lead, mentor, and train other staff as needed.
- Maintain official documents and records and assist in special projects.
- Attend meetings and seminars, record notes, and provide necessary information.
- Back up other Administrative Assistants and support other functional areas when required.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and professional phone etiquette.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective interaction with all levels.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other business software systems.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- General knowledge of the insurance industry and business operations.
Education and Experience
Some college coursework in Marketing, Business, Accounting, etc. is desirable and typically a minimum of four years of strong administrative experience is required.
Compensation & Benefits
In San Francisco, base pay ranges from $69,700 to $87,100 based on various factors including experience, skills, and location. In other jurisdictions, national base pay ranges from $35,000 to $65,000 annually. CNA offers a comprehensive benefits package for employees and their families.
