Job Description

About the Role

While embedded within the Transformation and Execution Team, as an Agile Project Management Intern, you will be learning how to navigate a complex, global organization and add value. We are looking for a future leader who can thrive anywhere within CME Group, not just 'tracking tasks'. We want individuals who embody our core values.

Core Values at CME Group

  • Embracing Change: Thriving in our SAFe-based agile environment and working across all CME functional groups.
  • Acting with Integrity: Handling high-risk, complex projects with maturity.
  • Driving Excellence: Delivering outcomes that matter.

What You Will Do as an Agile Project Management Intern

As an intern, you will support Agile Program Leaders (APLs) and Project Managers on both standalone initiatives and work integrated into our Product Operating Model.

  • Facilitate Collaboration: Act as the 'connective tissue' between teams to help remove barriers and keep momentum high.
  • Operationalise Change: Assist in translating high-level strategy into actionable project documentation and requirements.
  • Agile Support: Gain exposure to SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) ceremonies and help manage the flow of work within our technology and business streams.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work with diverse teams across our global offices to align deliverables and monitor progress.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for individuals who demonstrate the following qualities:

  • The Proactive Problem Solver: You don’t wait to be told what to do; you see a gap and offer to fill it. You are an analytical individual and actively apply those skills to solve project/business challenges.
  • The Relentless Learner: You are curious about how a global clearing house and exchange works and are eager to understand the nuances of derivatives markets.
  • The Adaptable Communicator: You can explain a complex update to a developer or a senior stakeholder with equal clarity and poise.
  • The Resilient Team Player: You stay calm under pressure and maintain a positive, 'can-do' attitude when project scopes shift.
  • The Networker: You are willing to grow your network, make connections and get to know stakeholders and colleagues across offices.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree (penultimate year) in Finance, Business, Operations or Tech, or any related discipline. This is a summer placement with preference for penultimate year students.
  • Tech Savvy: Comfortable with Google Workspace, AI and a quick study on other project management tools.
  • Conceptual Awareness: A basic understanding of how projects work (e.g., Agile vs. Waterfall), but more importantly, a desire to see these applied in a real-world corporate setting.

Please note that this Internship will be largely office based in London. You will need to be eligible to work in the UK.
