Overview
The Conflicts and Compliance Assistant at Clyde & Co plays a critical role in screening new client matters, ensuring compliance with conflicts and anti-money laundering (AML) standards, and supporting the overall compliance framework of the firm.
Key Responsibilities
Conflicts: Reviewing new client and matter forms, querying incomplete details, analyzing risks, conducting conflict checks using internal databases, liaising with Partners and Case Handlers, escalating issues, and maintaining accurate records for compliance.
Anti-Money Laundering: Researching and verifying new clients using online resources, establishing corporate structures, creating risk profiles, and supporting ongoing monitoring and documentation of AML compliance.
Compliance: Staying updated on departmental work, conflict and AML regulations, screening for sanctions, supporting lateral hires, and assisting with projects and training while ensuring service delivery and internal support.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Knowledge of SRA rules and conflicts of interest (desirable)
- Understanding of AML legislation (desirable)
- Strong MS Office, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent communication skills
- Experience with management systems like Intapp Intake/Conflicts, 3E (desirable)
- Ability to work under pressure, as a team player, and proactively manage tasks
