Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Desktop Support Engineer to join our team. This role involves the configuration and maintenance of Windows Servers, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and WINS. You will also manage Group Policies, user accounts, and SQL server installations and backups. Additionally, you'll handle the configuration and troubleshooting of Application Servers, IIS, Proxy servers, and FTP servers, along with managing file server access rights and monitoring system logs for critical alerts. The role also includes patch management, virus management, and printer server maintenance, with daily backups of all tasks. Familiarity with VMware platforms, including ESXi, vSphere Client, and vCenter Server installation, is essential. You will be responsible for installing and configuring virtual machines, managing datastores, and utilizing clones, snapshots, and templates for VM deployment. Experience with cloud server management on platforms like Softlayer for Sequel Logistic is also required, alongside configuring and troubleshooting VPN issues and maintaining data centers with daily server health checks and backups. Experience with Citrix Xen servers and resolving escalated Citrix issues is a plus. You will also install, configure, and monitor AD/DNS/DHCP Servers (2003/2008), and manage AD users, computers, OUs, group policies, and printers. Server backup and restore operations, along with virtualization basics, are also key responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Configure and maintain Windows Servers.
  • Manage and troubleshoot Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and WINS.
  • Handle Group Policies and user account management (unblocking, password resets).
  • Perform SQL server installations and schedule backups.
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Application Servers and IIS.
  • Monitor security patches and apply local group policies to isolated machines.
  • Manage Proxy and FTP servers, and assign user file access rights.
  • Monitor and maintain system logs for issues like low memory, high CPU, and logical drive usage.
  • Handle patch and virus management, and maintain printer servers.
  • Perform daily backups of all tasks and server health checks in the data center.
  • Manage VMware environments, including ESXi, vSphere, and vCenter Server.
  • Install, configure, and manage virtual machines, datastores, clones, snapshots, and templates.
  • Manage cloud servers on Softlayer for Sequel Logistic.
  • Configure and troubleshoot VPN issues.
  • Maintain Citrix Xen servers and resolve escalated Citrix issues.
