About The Role: Senior Technical Recruiter

Close is seeking its first dedicated Senior Technical Recruiter. While we've successfully hired many great Engineers through inbound applications, we now aim to optimize our Engineering hiring process due to increased application volume and ambitious headcount goals. As a Senior Technical Recruiter, you will collaborate with our Engineering and Talent teams to establish our first technical sourcing engine, evaluate candidates, and continuously refine our hiring process. You will be instrumental in maintaining and elevating our standards for technical talent, enhancing Close’s engineering-specific value proposition, and innovating efficient hiring strategies in the age of AI.

What You Bring

  • Seasoned B2B SaaS Technical Recruiter: You possess 4+ years of experience in the field, with a deep understanding of the talent and competitor markets and what constitutes an outstanding engineer.
  • Technically Proficient: You can effectively evaluate skillset fit, delve into project specifics, stack experience, and make sound judgment calls regarding technical capabilities.
  • Creative Problem-Solver: We are outcome-focused (Quality of Hire is our primary metric), which sometimes requires unconventional approaches. You are eager to run experiments and are not constrained by rigid playbooks.
  • A Salesperson: Beyond identifying great engineers, you understand what resonates with them and can leverage individual motivations to craft a compelling case for Close.
  • Motivated and Pace-Setter: Recruiting demands a proactive approach; you will drive roles and candidates forward, consistently maintaining quality.
  • Low-Ego and Genuinely Curious: We believe these traits are fundamental for effective interviewers and successful engineers.

Your Responsibilities

  • Build Sourcing Engine: Develop our initial technical sourcing engine, identify qualified candidates, create effective messaging to cut through noise, and guide candidates through our process.
  • Assess Candidates: Serve as the initial point of contact for candidates entering our pipeline, evaluating their skillsets and ensuring cultural and values alignment. You will conduct thorough, detailed, and transparent evaluations.
  • Manage Candidate Relationships: Oversee the candidate journey from initial source or application through to an offer from Close, acting as a trusted liaison for both candidates and the internal team.
  • Deliver Exceptional Candidate Experience: Ensure a candidate experience that embodies our values of clarity, decisiveness, and kindness.
  • Optimize with Data: Utilize data and on-the-ground observations to provide recommendations and refine processes with appropriate technology.
