Role and Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Content Direction:
- Develop and implement CHAI's content strategy in line with strategic priorities.
- Identify and capitalize on strategic content opportunities that highlight impact.
- Plan major initiatives including flagship reports and thought leadership pieces.
- Manage content calendars and measure content performance.
Content Development & Quality Assurance:
- Write and edit thought leadership and key reports/white papers.
- Translate technical achievements into accessible narratives.
- Oversee content approval and maintain high-quality standards.
- Develop templates for streamlined content production.
Team & Cross-Organizational Collaboration:
- Supervise and mentor content team members.
- Coordinate with technical, country, policy, and advocacy teams.
- Build strong relationships with senior leaders to enhance narrative communication.
- Provide training and support for content engagement.
Administrative Duties:
- Manage contracts with freelance writers and vendors.
- Establish content governance frameworks and review protocols.
- Oversee team scheduling, workflow, and capacity planning.
Required Experience & Skills
- Degree in journalism, communications, public health, or related field.
- 7-10 years in strategic communications and content development.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills with strong technical translation ability.
- Experience in low or middle-income country settings and global health context.
- Proven project management skills and staff supervision experience.
Additional Qualities
- Strategic, innovative, and detail-oriented leadership style.
- Understanding of digital content best practices and analytics.
- Fluency in additional languages is a plus.
- Willingness to travel internationally as needed.
