Role Overview

As a Senior DevOps Engineer at Climate X, you will design and evolve the infrastructure powering our climate risk products. You will integrate systems for asset dataset discovery and risk analysis, ensuring robust, scalable, and secure cloud operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enhance and evolve our AWS platform and delivery pipelines.
  • Design secure, scalable CI/CD processes and infrastructure.
  • Build observability tooling with robust logging, metrics, and alerts.
  • Provide DevOps leadership and foster modern deployment strategies including Kubernetes, GitOps, and CI/CD.
  • Collaborate with engineers to improve deployments and developer experience.

Technical Implementation

  • Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and ArgoCD.
  • Manage containerized and serverless workloads on AWS including Kubernetes (EKS), ECS/Fargate, and Lambda.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
  • Champion GitOps workflows for auditable and automated deployments.
  • Create secure cross-account networking with VPC peering, Transit Gateway, and PrivateLink.
  • Build and operate observability tools for monitoring, logging, tracing and alerting.

Essential Skills

  • Strong AWS infrastructure design and management (EKS, ECS/Fargate, Lambda, etc.).
  • Expertise in Kubernetes including scaling, monitoring, and migration.
  • Proven experience with CI/CD tooling and DevOps automation.
  • Proficient with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Deep understanding of cloud security best practices and IAM.
  • Experience with cross-account AWS networking and observability frameworks.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with distributed systems and microservices architectures.
  • Familiarity with event-driven messaging systems.
  • Exposure to workflow orchestration and service mesh technologies.
  • Experience with FinOps and cloud cost optimization practices.
  • Knowledge of finance-relevant compliance and security standards.
