The Role: Senior UI Design Engineer

As a Senior UI Design Engineer, you will be instrumental in crafting the web experiences that captivate users even before they sign up for ClickUp. This role sits at the intersection of Brand Design and Web Engineering, where you will transform design visions into high-performance code, pixel-perfect components, hyper-performant animations, and compelling landing pages designed to drive conversions. Your direct impact will be on how the world perceives our brand and whether visitors convert into loyal users.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop interfaces: Translate brand concepts, wireframes, and prototypes into high-quality, production-ready code for both web and mobile platforms.
• Build and maintain the design system: Actively contribute to and evolve ClickUp's component libraries to ensure consistency and efficiency across all web properties.
• Partner with brand design: Collaborate closely with the design team, translating creative direction into systemized code and extracting production-ready assets from Figma.
• Optimize for performance and accessibility: Guarantee that all interfaces and animations are exceptionally fast and adhere to stringent accessibility standards (WCAG/ADA).
• Drive conversion: Work with the experimentation team to rigorously test and validate designs against critical business metrics such as conversion and retention.

Specific Skills Required

• Frontend mastery: Possess 4+ years of hands-on experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks like React.
• Design system expertise: Demonstrated experience in building, maintaining, or contributing to scalable design systems.
• Figma proficiency: Ability to create high-fidelity deliverables and manage organized files suitable for production and export.
• Animation and interaction: Proven expertise in crafting smooth transitions and interactive elements that significantly enhance the user experience.
• Accessibility standards: Strong foundational understanding of responsive design principles and key accessibility standards (WCAG, ARIA, ADA).
• Stakeholder management: Capability to excel in high-visibility design reviews and iterative processes with C-level stakeholders.
• Version control: Proficiency with Git and standard version control workflows.

Preferred Experience

• Animation libraries: Experience utilizing tools such as Framer Motion, GSAP, or similar animation libraries.
• SaaS and marketing: Prior experience working on large-scale SaaS products or high-traffic marketing websites.
• AI tooling: Hands-on experience with AI-enabled development tools and toolchains (e.g., Cursor) to boost workflow efficiency.

Compensation for this role ranges from $160K - $210K.
