About the Team

The Core Engineering team works on the open-source project and collaborates across engineering and product teams to develop and expand the Cloud service offering.

Role Overview: QA Engineer - Core Database

You will focus on improving quality and efficiency for both the open-source and cloud solutions. This role involves automating operational functions and ensuring smooth production releases for ClickHouse Cloud on a massive scale.

What will you do?

  • Build and enhance test automation frameworks and develop automated test cases.
  • Validate new features and ensure smooth production deployments.
  • Test cross-functional implementations across internal teams.
  • Implement testing strategies and automation for large distributed systems.
  • Evaluate new functionalities for each release and optimize existing code.
  • Engineer and improve testing infrastructure.

About you

  • Extensive knowledge of SQL.
  • Experience in SDET, Release Engineering, or QA roles in databases or distributed systems.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, or C++ (ability to read C++ code is required).
  • Working knowledge of Git, Linux, and shell scripting.
  • Experience in both manual and automated testing.
  • Strong collaborative skills with remote teams.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and debugging abilities.
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced, team-driven environment.

Compensation and Perks

The typical starting salary in the US is between $125,000 and $185,000 USD, with premium market ranges in major areas including Los Angeles, San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle, and New York City Metro.
