Job Details

Wildlife Research Technician

The Wildlife Research Technician works with the Wildlife Ecologist to conduct wildlife research, monitoring and management throughout Cleveland Metroparks. The position is based at Mill Stream Run Reservation and includes work at multiple reservations managed by Cleveland Metroparks.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and categorize wildlife camera images using Timelapse or similar software.
  • Assist with data analysis and interpretation for report preparation.
  • Conduct field data collection independently or with staff, collaborators, and volunteers.
  • Survey and monitor wildlife, including at night, from a vehicle, and using wildlife cameras.
  • Coordinate and supervise volunteer survey crews for research and monitoring.

Qualifications:

Applicants should have completed at least two years of college courses in relevant subjects such as natural resources, natural sciences, biology, geology, hydrology, forestry, wildlife management, environmental science or related fields, with at least six months of field or research experience. A valid driver’s license under the laws of the State of Ohio is required.
