About the Opportunity

As the Director, Software Engineering at Cleerly, you will lead the development, deployment, and scaling of advanced machine learning systems that impact diagnostic and prognostic care pathways for heart disease. You will provide technical leadership and manage an AI software team building cloud-based software systems and infrastructure that support a wide range of products.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with software engineers, product managers, AI scientists, and clinical teams on AI-powered cardiovascular products.
• Build and maintain Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) solutions for clinical problems.
• Develop software systems with a focus on design, extensibility, integration, and security.
• Design data management and model training infrastructures for large-scale projects.
• Evaluate subsystem performance ensuring scalability, compliance, privacy, and security.
• Participate in product release strategies for platform integration.
• Implement agile processes including code reviews, testing, and deployment strategies.
• Mentor and grow the software engineering team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• 12+ years of engineering experience and 5-6 years in management.
• 3+ years in medical imaging and/or digital health platform development.
• Strong communication skills and ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Deep familiarity with backend software engineering and cloud-based applications.
• Experience in regulated environments and adherence to relevant standards.
• Passion for mentoring and leading remote agile teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ML orchestration frameworks and training platforms.
• Domain knowledge in cardiac CT and coronary artery disease diagnostics.
• Experience with 510(k) submissions in a regulated SaMD environment.
