Position Summary: Director of Enterprise Architecture

The Director of Enterprise Architecture will play a pivotal role in our company’s end-to-end technology transformation. This role will shape the enterprise architecture strategy, ensure cohesive design across business systems, and leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) to automate processes, reduce manual workloads, and accelerate business efficiency. This leader will oversee a team of specialized architects and serve as a trusted advisor to both business and technology executives. The role requires a blend of strategic vision, technical depth, and people leadership, with a strong emphasis on execution, and the ability to deliver measurable business outcomes through smart automation and AI-driven solutions. The role will directly manage and mentor a team of architects spanning critical domains: CRM, ERP, Telecom Call Platform, Technology Infrastructure, and Data & AI. In addition, the role will serve as the connective tissue between architecture, delivery teams, and business stakeholders to ensure cohesive design, scalability, and business value realization. This is a Remote/Work from Home position reporting to the Sr. Director of Enterprise Architecture.

What You Will Do

Leadership & People Management
  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of enterprise and domain architects, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation.
  • Provide architectural governance, frameworks, and thought leadership across initiatives.
  • Promote professional growth, mentoring architects to become trusted advisors to business leaders.
Enterprise Architecture & Strategy
  • Define and maintain the company’s Enterprise Architecture roadmap aligned with business strategy and transformation goals and measurable outcomes.
  • Establish architecture principles, standards, and guardrails to ensure consistency across platforms and domains.
  • Partner with business and IT leaders to shape long-term technology strategies and investment decisions.
  • Translate complex technical strategies into clear business value propositions for executive audiences.
AI-Driven Process Automation
  • Champion the use of AI, machine learning (ML), and generative AI to streamline operations, enhance decision-making, and reduce manual processes.
  • Collaborate with business process owners to identify high-value automation opportunities and implement AI-powered workflows, bots, and intelligent assistants.
  • Architect and deploy intelligent systems that leverage predictive analytics, natural language processing (NLP), and process mining to optimize efficiency.
  • Partner with the Data & AI Architect to establish AI governance frameworks, ensuring responsible use of AI and data ethics compliance.
Hands-On Solutioning
  • Act as a player-coach—balancing leadership with hands-on architecture design and solution reviews.
  • Lead solution architecture for cross-domain initiatives (CRM modernization, ERP upgrade, telecom platform evolution, AI-driven capabilities), ensuring scalability, security, cost effectiveness and alignment with standards.
Technology Transformation
  • Drive an automation-centric technology transformation integrating legacy and modern systems across CRM (customer engagement), ERP (back-office), telecom call captioning platform, and data/AI platforms.
  • Partner with program and product management to prioritize initiatives and support change management through communication and education.
Governance & Enablement
  • Establish and lead architecture review boards (ARBs), embedding security, risk management, and regulatory compliance in solution design and delivery.
  • Define reusable frameworks, reference architectures, and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field (master's preferred).
  • 12+ years of progressive IT/architecture experience.
  • 5+ years in enterprise architecture leadership roles managing architects across various architecture domains.
  • Relevant professional certifications such as TOGAF, Zachman, or FEAF (Enterprise Architecture), and Cloud Architect certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert).
  • Proficiency with leading Enterprise Architecture tools & diagram platforms such as SparxEA, LeanIX, MEGA, Lucid, Visio.
  • Proven track record of leading architecture for large-scale technology transformations.
  • Strong ability to design AI-infused architectures that improve customer experience and operational performance.
  • Deep experience with AI/ML platforms, Large Language Models (LLMs), Natural Language Processing (NLP), Predictive Modeling, and intelligent process design.
  • Strong hands-on ability to design solution blueprints and guide teams in execution.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, bridging technical and business perspectives.
  • Respectful and outstanding leadership skills that motivate colleagues to focus their energy on achieving business goals.
  • Ability to plan and manage both strategic and tactical operational levels.
  • Works to achieve goals while overcoming obstacles and/or planning for contingencies.
  • Strong analytical, planning, and budgeting skills.
  • Ability to influence others.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills, self-directed and able to handle multiple priorities with demanding timeframes.

  • Proficient in MS Office, modern communication tools for virtual teams (i.e., MS Teams).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Deep expertise across multiple domains (CRM, ERP, data platforms, telecom/call platforms, AI/ML, cloud infrastructure).

Compensation

The compensation for this role is $175,000 to $200,000, plus 15% determined by competitive market analysis and internal equity considerations. Final compensation will be based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and business needs.
