Banking and Financial Services Attorney at Clark Hill Law

Clark Hill PLC is seeking an attorney with 5-7 years of experience to join its Banking and Financial Services business unit, specifically in the firm’s financial regulatory and compliance practice. This is a unique opportunity to join industry experts in a growing and specialized practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist two partners in federal and state regulatory investigations and supervisions.
  • Review policies and procedures, compliance management system infrastructure, and risk management systems.
  • Analyze various financial services statutes and regulations to support client regulatory expectations in payments, lending, debt collection, and mortgage servicing for banks and non-banking institutions.
  • Provide regulatory due diligence for M&A financial services transactions.

Required Qualifications & Skills

This position requires strong subject matter expertise in financial services regulation, extensive legal research, and proficiency in work product. Candidates must possess analytical and critical thinking along with strong problem-solving skills, and be capable of direct interaction with clients and regulators.

  • Detail-oriented with a solid work ethic.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated interest in supporting and contributing to business development initiatives, including client alerts, industry presentations, conference participation, and relationship-building within the financial services sector.
  • Must be licensed in home jurisdiction or eligible for admission.
  • 5-7 years of experience in Banking and Financial Services regulatory and compliance practice.

Compensation & Benefits

The salary range for this full-time position is $200,000 - $220,000 annually. Actual compensation is influenced by qualifications, experience, skill sets, training, internal equity, and market data. This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Clark Hill also offers a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance (with optional HSA/FSA), short-term and long-term disability, dental insurance, vision care, life insurance, 401K, vacation, sick time, parking/public transportation allowance, and an employee assistance program.
