Overview

Clark Hill PLC is seeking an experienced Banking and Financial Services Attorney to join its Banking and Financial Services business unit, specifically within the firm’s financial regulatory and compliance practice. This is a unique opportunity to become part of a growing, specialized practice, collaborating with industry experts across the firm's extensive network.

Key Responsibilities

The successful Banking and Financial Services Attorney will primarily assist two partners in critical areas, including:

  • Leading federal and state regulatory investigations and supervisions.
  • Thoroughly reviewing policies and procedures, compliance management system infrastructure, and risk management systems to ensure robust regulatory adherence.
  • Conducting in-depth analysis of various financial services statutes and regulations to support client regulatory expectations in payments, lending, debt collection, and mortgage servicing for both banking and non-banking institutions.
  • Providing essential regulatory due diligence for Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) financial services transactions.

Qualifications

Candidates for the Banking and Financial Services Attorney position are expected to possess:

  • 5-7 years of relevant legal experience in banking and financial services.
  • Strong subject matter expertise in financial services regulation.
  • Extensive legal research capabilities and proficiency in work product.
  • Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated detail-orientation, a solid work ethic, and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Direct experience interacting with clients and regulators.
  • A keen interest in supporting and contributing to business development initiatives, such as client alerts, industry presentations, conference participation, and relationship-building within the financial services sector.
  • Must be licensed in their home jurisdiction or eligible for admission.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this full-time Banking and Financial Services Attorney position ranges from $200,000 to $220,000, influenced by qualifications, experience, and market data. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
