Overview
Civil Design, Inc. (CDI) is a multi-disciplined civil engineering firm offering civil site, structural, land surveying, and GIS services. Since 1996, our team has grown to over 150 members across six locations in Missouri, Illinois, and Kentucky. We serve six service lines including Infrastructure + Analytics, Site, Structures, Survey, Transportation, and Water Resources.
Role: Civil Engineer - Roadway Designer
This position supports our mission of Building Stronger Communities by designing municipal roadway and highway projects. The role involves planning and production design for municipal roadways, interstate highways, intersections, interchanges, ADA compliant sidewalks and multi-use facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and plan production for various roadway projects.
- Create horizontal/vertical alignments, cross sections, intersection layouts, drainage, and pedestrian facility designs.
- Collaborate with Project Managers and Project Engineers to develop effective solutions.
- Work on a diverse range of project types.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong technical knowledge in transportation engineering and roadway design.
- Experience with governmental clients in Kentucky, Missouri and/or Illinois.
- Proficiency with CADD software; preference for MicroStation/Open Roads Designer (ORD) with AutoCAD/Civil 3D as acceptable alternatives.
- Good communication skills.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering is required. Applicants should have 1 – 8 years of experience, with EI/PE credentials strongly encouraged.

Compensation
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $67,000-$90,000/year, depending on experience, education, skills, and other factors.
