Overview

The Corporate Application Technical Leader role at City of Toronto is a 12-month, full-time temporary position located at 703 Don Mills Rd., North York, ON M3C 3N3. This role acts as a Subject Matter Expert for enterprise application platforms, ensuring their daily operation and continuous improvement.

Job Summary

Responsible for providing technical leadership and managing application lifecycles. Duties include client engagement, stakeholder communication, and coordinating work with application support teams.

Job Functions

  • Direct business and technical inter-divisional staff to deliver critical enterprise applications.
  • Oversee day-to-day work allocation, scheduling, and task review.
  • Negotiate with stakeholders for corporate-wide solution consensus.
  • Provide expert advice on corporate architectures, policies and emerging technologies.
  • Manage project requirements, design, testing, and implementation of solutions.
  • Develop policies ensuring security, privacy, and quality assurance.
  • Lead procurement, project management, and technical documentation processes.
  • Coordinate cross-divisional initiatives and software upgrade activities.
  • Perform analysis, development, and testing for new or enhanced applications.
  • Support development and testing environments for complex computing solutions.

Key Qualifications

  • Experience with Red Hat OpenShift v4.x Administration/Support.
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools like Terraform and Ansible.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash or PowerShell.
  • Experience with JEE REST API development using Apache Camel, Spring Boot, and PostgreSQL.

You Must Also Have

  • Exposure to cloud and infrastructure solutions including data storage and security.
  • Working knowledge of DevSecOps/CICD pipelines using GitLabCI, Ansible, or Artifactory.
  • Experience using collaboration tools like JIRA, Confluence, and Microsoft Teams.
