About the Role

The City of Toronto is seeking a well-rounded, strategic and solutions-oriented professional as the Coordinator Policy & Programs Policy Advisor. Reporting to the Director, Strategic Policy & Programs, this role plays a pivotal role in municipal government by providing policy and program analysis, issues tracking, and strategic coordination, particularly in relation to City Council and Committee activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and advise on reports to City Council and Committees.
  • Manage agenda forecasting and coordinate reporting requirements.
  • Conduct research and analysis for informed decision-making.
  • Develop briefing materials and presentations.
  • Coordinate projects to develop and recommend policy options.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

Post-secondary education in Public Policy/Administration or related field, considerable experience in report preparation, briefing notes and presentations, familiarity with government processes, and hands-on project management expertise are required. Experience in large public sector organizations and a strong command of Committee and Council proceedings, along with excellent communication and conflict resolution skills, are essential.

Work Environment

This is a full-time, permanent position at City Hall, offering a dynamic and collaborative work environment. The role requires handling confidential matters and contributing to employee engagement initiatives.
